: one who oversees the entire lifecycle of a video project, from initial concept and scripting to filming, editing, and final distribution.

 

   When one thinks of this job title, it's impossible not to think of names like J.J. Abrams, Mark Burnett, Shonda Rhimes, Jerry Bruckheimer, Dick Wolf, just to name a few. For the most part, these are names associated with the business side of this career. I, on the other hand, enjoy producing video/television because of its technical challenges.

   In recent years I have acquired a taste for all things video/television, from producing and writing to lighting a set, and from filming a show or some footage to editing, color correcting and sound mixing the final product. What attracts me to this art form is its broad reach and the possibilities it opens for creativity and accessibility.
